Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel


 

GPP is a fast molecular test that identifies bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens in stool specimens.

Campylobacter jejuni, coli, upsaliensis
Clostridium difficile (toxin A/B)
Enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC)
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC)
Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) lt/st
Plesiomonas shigelloides
Salmonella
Shiga-like-toxin-producing E. coli (STEC)
Vibrio (parahaemolyticus, vulnificus, cholerae)
Vibrio cholerae
Yersinia enterocolitica

Viruses:
Adenovirus F40/41
Astrovirus
Norovirus GI/GII
Rotavirus A
Sapovirus (I, II, IV, and V)

Parasites:
Cryptosporidium

Nausea and vomiting
Biliary tract and gallbladder disorders
Abdominal cramps and pain
Watery, usually non-bloody diarrhea
Bloody diarrhea (severe infection)

 

How Testing Works:

Step 1: Your specimen is collected and sent to the lab.

Step 2: Our billing team verifies coverage, and begins testing. If coverage is denied, we contact you to discuss options.

Step 3: Within 24-48 hours, testing is completed, reviewed by our clinical team, and a report is published to the portal.
