COVID Variant Sequencing
Reliable and accurate PCR results within 48-72 hours.
LVG now offers variant sequencing for positive samples! Using next generation sequencing technology, we can determine your specific variant of COVID-19.
How Sequencing Works:
At the time of collection, you may select or decline to have your sample sequenced. Please note that sequencing will be billed to your insurance company, or LVG will charge your card on file for sequencing (if paying out of pocket for testing). Your sequencing results will be available 5-7 days after your PCR test is complete.
About Your Sequencing Results:
The CDC is currently tracking certain variants that may behave differently than other variants. If your variant has a CDC classification you can find more information here.
You can find a graph showing the current proportion of the most common variants in the US here.
Many lineages are based off of the B lineage. Lineages are for informational use only and should not serve as a treatment plan.
